Young Korean Academy (YKA) was created on May 13, 1913 in San Francisco, United States, by Ahn Chang Ho, widely known as Dosan. Dosan created this organization with a group of Korean pioneers and intellectuals who represented each of the eight provinces of Korea. Since then, the headquarter moved to Los Angeles, and now resides in Seoul. It exists today with many branches in Korea and in major cities in the United States.

Young Korean Academy was created to train young people on character, health and knowledge. YKA members were to build a network of trust and sincerity in everything they do in life. The purpose of this program was to develop competent leaders in all walks of life, becoming a part of the foundation for the new independent democratic nation of Korea. YKA has produced many prominent leaders throughout the modern Korean history establishing themselves all throughout the world. Today, YKA continues to train future leaders who will make meaningful, positive impacts on our communities and on our society.
